For any kind of information whatsoever, we consult websites. Also, e-businesses are becoming increasingly popular nowadays. Entrepreneurs are looking to conduct business through websites which are used to attract potential clients.
So the image or reputation of a website depends on the features it projects and obviously its functionality and how user friendly it is. We like to visit websites which have sharp and snazzy features and most importantly, which are uncluttered and where the content can be accessed easily. This is where the vitality of web designing comes in. web designing is the activity that leads to the look and features of a particular website.
This is the juncture where it is extremely important to realize what exactly web designing is. It is the task of designing presentation or rather, pages of content and putting them up on the Web where they can be accessed by all and sundry. Thus web designing includes designing content for web pages, websites, Web applications, software, and even multimedia.
To have a glimpse at the history of such a revolutionary skill, the first website was put up by Tim Berners Lee in August 1991. Prior to this, the Internet was only being used for communication systems like email. He was the pioneer in being able to combine the Internet and hypertext to write the first website ever.
However, one must make a clear distinction between web designing and web development. The latter is a general blanket term for all activities connected to the Web. This includes web designing, e-business and commerce and so on and so forth. Web designing however is more specifically about content presentation, and presenting it in such a way that not only is it accessible to a wide cross-section of people but also is visually impacting.
